Herpa Die Cast Airplane Models

Great Little Planes
For more than eight years, model collectors and aircraft enthusiasts
alike have been admiring the Herpa Wings airplane miniatures.
The number of our models' fans have kept increasing over the years.
The collection has kept on growing, too, being continuously enlarged
by new aircraft types and liveries. At the moment, the Herpa Wings
collection comprises no less than four different scales. In 1999,
some 100 new models were added to the existing collection. The
classic 1/500 scale collection alone was extended by 58 new models.
Aside from many miniatures sporting new liveries, there are quite
a number of new forms on the list, including the Boeing 757-300,
the Boeing 707, the Vickers Viscount, the Airbus A340-500 and
-600, as well as the BAe 146-200.
Small
in Scale But Great in Detail
That is what has made them popular: they are high-quality goods,
you can feel the skilled workmanship, they are true down to the
last detail, they are true to scale, and they are no bigger than
an adult's hand. These features have made Herpa Wings an ideal
collector's item among airplane enthusiasts. Only close co-operation
with the airlines and aircraft manufacturers from all over the
world allows the high precision of the metal miniature aircraft
models. For only they can deliver the documents needed for developing
the exact outlines for producing the moulds, and for reproducing
the airlines' colors and logos. In a rather labor-intensive manufacturing
process, the models are imprinted between forty and sixty times,
sometimes even over a hundred single imprints are required. Afterwards,
all parts are assembled by hand, and then, each single model gets
thoroughly checked several times. Only this rather sumptuous production
process guaranties you the precision that has made Herpa Wings
renowned in such a short time.
